My Mission

I help students with learning disabilities (or students who are struggling in certain academic areas), and teach them ways they can work through their struggles while giving them the confidence to be able to see themselves as a successful, competent learner.  By increasing the student’s confidence, their success in tasks increases; likewise, when they begin to feel a sense of success, their confidence then begins to grow. I connect with the students I work with by developing a sense of trust and support and find ways that I am able to relate to them.  I see things in their perspective and act as an advocate for the student to make sure that all their needs as a student are being met.  I give the students a sense of hope and self-assurance that ultimately will lead to seeing themselves as a “success”.  Through effective collaboration and teamwork, the student’s support system can work together to create a positive academic experience for the child.

My Education

Born and raised in Marin County, I graduated from Redwood High School in Larkspur. After high school, I went on to earn my Bachelor’s in Psychology from UC Santa Barbara. I continued on to receive my Master’s in Education and Educational Therapy certificate from Holy Names University.

After graduating college, I participated in an internship program in Melbourne, Australia where I gained many valuable skills, as well as heightened my passion to work with children. As a Program Coordinator, I assisted in creating programs for children of a youth center to keep them safe and off the streets.

For example, I helped organize a bi-weekly study group for students who wanted extra help with their school assignments. The study group was extremely successful and provided many students with the necessary support they needed to succeed at their academic tasks.

Working with the students academically, and feeling their confidence grow as they became more successful in school, was such a rewarding experience for me and I knew this was what I wanted to do in my life.

“Caroline is so versatile and flexible in what she helps with and how she helps, and she is a true champion and advocate for my kids. She takes the long-term view of where a kid needs to be and scaffolds it all to make those goals a reality. She works to get everyone involved (the teachers and the parents) to get the full view and provide the student with a complete solution.”
